…And the winner is…

Hello everyone!

The day that we have all been waiting for has FINALLY arrived.

I must admit, I have been quite obsessed as I awaited this day.  No – It’s not because today is my “Monday” at my nine-to-five. As thrilling as that is (if thrilling meant: “I’m looking forward to my “Friday”"), I have been waiting anxiously to learn if I am one of the winners of  Brian Gardner’s Revolution News Theme Giveaway.

Enough with the build-up.

I know what you came here for, and I’m ready to give it to you. Originally, Brian Gardner stated that 3 lucky contestants would be blessed with winning his Revolution News Theme. However, it seems that Brian was so impressed with my entry (this blog), that congratulations are in order for 5 lucky winners.

Unfortunately, I am not one of the fortunate few.

Prior to the announcement of the winners, I happened to read a blog post titled “Blame Yourself“ written by Dante Lee. Summarily, the message was that entrepreneurs must be willing to accept responsibility for failures, rather than blaming others. That said, I realize that I failed to persuade Brian Gardner to select me as a winner of his Revolution News Theme Giveaway. Furthermore, I failed to persuade you all to vote for me. I accept my role in those failures.

Moving forward, I think it’s worth mentioning that although I submitted my entry twice, I was not even selected among 20 finalists. In fact, it seems as though mine was the only entry not considered at all (see for yourself). I must admit, although I have my suspicions, I don’t know why. However, I know someone who can answer that question. Brian Gardner. I will ask him. I hope he responds. (Wish me luck.)

Oh, in case you’re wondering, I haven’t decided how long I will continue this blog. I have considered maintaining it as a forum to document my progress toward my ultimate goal (the hush hush website I spoke of in my first blog entry). As a novice, it would certainly be beneficial for me to use this forum to practice blogging.

I welcome your feedback. What do you think?

This is my entry for Brian Gardner’s Revolution News Theme Giveaway

I’ll be honest. This is my first blog.

I created this blog after discovering Brian Gardner’s Revolution News Theme Giveaway on Brian Gardner’s blog today. Brian Gardner requires that all contestants in the Brian Gardner Revolution News Theme Giveaway “…write a post on your blog as to why you want the theme, and what you plan on doing with it.”

These are the rules as stated on Brian Gardner’s blog:

“I thought it would be fun to run a contest and give away a few copies of my Revolution News Theme. With so many contests out there lately, such as the awesome one that David Airey just ran, I guess I can say I’ve caught “contest fever.”

So the rules on this contest are simple – I want you to write a post on your blog as to why you want the theme, and what you plan on doing with it. I’ll be picking 3 lucky people, and will award them by sending them the Revolution News theme. This should be a fun contest, and I look forward to seeing the responses!

I’m a creative person by nature, so there aren’t any special requirements to this. Have fun, be truthful and please provide a link in the comments section to the post you have written. I will be listing the entries inside this post as they come in.

I will announce the winners on Wednesday October 10th. Best of luck!”

Why I want to win Brian Gardner’s Revolution News Theme:

I want to win Brian Gardner’s Revolution News Theme because of it’s design format and features. Brian Gardner describes his Revolution News Theme as “…a customizable theme ideal for online newspapers, online magazines and other website portals.” The design format and features of Brian Gardner’s Revolution News Theme are compatible with the vision I have for the website I am creating.  Brian Gardner’s Revolution News Theme has a professional, clean, easy on the eyes design format that is more attractive than most online newspapers, online magazines, and website portals that I’ve visited (and I have visited more than I can count). Brian Gardner’s Revolution News Theme also has an assortment of categories (Breaking News, eNews & Updates, Other Featured Stories, World News, Politics, Business, Sports, Technology, Advertisements, Latest Headlines, Categories, Related Sites, Archives, and Admin), and impressive features including the ability to include photographed images, and archives.

What I plan on doing with Brian Gardner’s Revolution News Theme:

I plan to use Brian Gardner’s Revolution News Theme to create a professional image for my website. A professional image will add legitimacy to my website enabling it to compete with larger more established companies. This is important to me, because at present, I am the sole employee for my company. Furthermore, I am not a professional web designer, and I have been creating my website on a shoestring budget. I have selected a creative, and memorable domain name for my website, and I have a grand vision of how it will succeed. If you can imagine Brian Gardner’s Revolution News Theme applied to a website with inspirational and informative topics that anyone can benefit from, you can understand what my website will offer. Admittedly, I am being slightly evasive, but that’s only because I have learned the importance of protecting your intellectual property, and what I have to offer is worth protecting. I am not an arrogant person, but I am confident. Needless to say, I would love to be able to credit Brian Gardner by providing a link to Brian Gardner’s website on my site.

Feel free to visit Brian Gardner’s blog to vote for me. Tell Brian I sent you.
